A short video on the use of informatics and automation in the state-of-the-art clinical laboratory at Rio Hortega Hospital, in Valladolid, Spain. 

The video gives a walk-through of the lab and shows how the Modulab Laboratory Information System (LIS) manages the patient registry, phlebotomy, pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical processes.  In conjunction with state-of-the-art automation, the laboratory has effectively increased its workload significantly while eliminating handling errors, increasing staff efficiency and workplace morale, and providing an overall better service to the hospital.
